Ahoy!
It’s been a crazy-packed couple of days here in the BVI. After assembling our crew aboard our Saba 50 catamaran, we set sail from the main island of Tortola and headed north-west to Jost Van Dyke. Our first stop was Great Harbour, home of world-renowned Foxy’s Bar. Foxy himself was holding court and telling jokes that I would never dare repeat.
The man, the legend, Foxy.
After a couple of drinks at Foxy’s island watering hole we headed back aboard for dinner and some late night Cards Against Humanity. There was some major crew bonding and day one came to an all too quick close.

Sunday morning we were up and out of Great Harbour early to head around the corner to White Bay and the Soggy Dollar Bar. It’s a place that Capt. Bob calls “his Disneyland” and it does not disappoint. Soggy is the origin point of the Painkiller, a delicious rum drink that has since spread to become the drink of the Virgin Islands. Before heading over to indulge, the crew took advantage of having a Pilates instructor on board to get a workout in (and put on a show for everyone else anchored around us!).

The lovely Pennie, guiding us through the exercises.
Then we piled in the tender (dinghy) and hit the beach!

Chilling at Soggy
A long day in the sun led to afternoon siestas for much of the crew while the captain and mate prepared dinner (chicken pesto with orzo salad: you can find an example menu on our Upcoming Charters page).
An evening swim
As night fell we all prepared for the main attraction: the Full Moon Party at Foxy’s Taboo! A rocking and rolling taxi ride in a modified pickup truck brought us to the bar only to find: it’s a bust! Ok, that’s not entirely true, we all had a good time, but there was nowhere near the number of partiers that we expected. They all must have been at one of the other parties on a different island (or had a little too much at Soggy during the day).
Full Moon partiers
We’ve got a whole week of adventures ahead so stay tuned!
